It *is* the Dragonball Mc68VZ328 . This processor has an onboard LCD
controller. In my Handspring the onboard LCD controller is ignored. and an
Epsom LCD controller is used instead. This controller is what supports the
65K colours.
That's why it's not safe to directly adress hardware :o)
