It can be done now -- CodeWarrior for Palm OS 7 ships with a Perl
interpreter plugin -- it is in the thrill seekers folder and is easily
installed. This allows you to execute a Perl script with every build;
the script can run any external programs you want, as well as access
large parts of the CW plugin API that would let you alter a header file
to include
a build number.
One of the engineers here also wrote an in-house build number tool; I
can't promise it for the next release, but I'll check to see if it could
also be a "thrill-seeker" tool.
