First of all let me make clear that working on TCP/IP and with wireless networks are two different things as they follow different protocols. Since you are playing around with iMessenger hence I assume that you would like to work on wireless network. From the description of the problem it seems that you are sitting behind a proxy. You need to have a static IP in order to emulate wireless applications. Make sure you have the right proxy settings (see Prefs->Wireless), you can get more information the proxy's IP address and the various error codes from www.palmos.com
