Aaron, Renaud has fixed the issue that you forwarded to us and will send you a new (big) patch. But we may not have fixed everything since we do not know what was broken. The problem here is that there is not 'test suite'. I mean a bunch of rcp which must compile for every release. Why not adding a "reference" folder to the distribution containing these rcp which people can use to validate their patch. That would not be too difficult. People in this list could even send you the strange things they made. Using PRCExplorer to validate generated prc to ensure that not only it compiles but produce valid results. I really think that this would make people patches more reliable...
About the fonts, you are right. The file I sent you fixes only the font and only one function. I tested it with what I had and thought reasonable and it worked. You can probably integrate it directly. However it is also in the big patch that Renaud is going to send to you. About PalmSource assisting with development of tools, I do not know of such an official intent, but there are individuals who share your thoughts and are willing to help in the limits set by their employer :-) Cordially, Regis. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Regis NICOLAS - Engineering Director, Montpellier Site Palm OS 5.0 Technical Lead Palm Computing Europe, a PalmSource, Inc. subsidiary When the finger points to the sky, the idiot looks at the finger. -----Original Message----- From: Aaron Ardiri [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, March 27, 2002 9:03 PM To: Palm Developer Forum Cc: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: RE: Font Resource Format On Wed, 27 Mar 2002, Regis Nicolas wrote: > So someone at PalmSource is looking at it right now :-) great :) > There are some problems in the way the fonts are generated. > I am currently working on a fix which I will send you Aaron but I wanted to > take some time to explain what the problems are. ok.. what is the status of fixing the 2.9p3 release you guys sent over? :P if possible, i assume the changes here may be to only font.[ch] - so, we should be able to throw it back into 2.9p2 without any problems :) > OF COURSE THIS IS NOT PALMSOURCE OFFICIAL INFORMATION.
