It is rather hard to believe that it's been like this for so long ('n'
years!). But there it is.
For about a year I had a Linux box on the local LAN that mirrored these
groups. It was wonderful! But then some (more) bad messages or something
got into the list and no Linux news software we tried was able to work
properly.
If anyone has such a setup going, please let me know. I'd like to get
back to monitoring these groups more than once a week or two. :)
That said, I run a Perl script once or twice a day that sucks down all
recent articles to a Unix/Netscape type email file. I tweaked the script
to handle all the bad messages in the database. The email file is easy
to search inside a text editor.
