The PPC emus aren't as cool as the Palm's but eVC is better than Codewarrior (and its free). Which is easier depends on your background, I was brought up on Windows so development is easier for me there. However, I've chosen Palm OS over CE for my personal device (Tapwave Zodiac :) ).
Also of note is the Windows CE community, I'm not impressed. The Microsoft newsgroups are inundated with spam and those viruses that claim to be Windows updates. Further, a large number of the posters aren't interested in making the effort to do their own work. Good luck getting questions answered about anything but the most basic problems. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Markus Dresch Sent: Monday, November 24, 2003 1:37 AM To: Palm Developer Forum Subject: Re: WindowsCE vs PalmOS no... it's not easier. i wrote an application for ppc2002, worked fine. i installed it on a ppc2003 device. the debugger spit out some pretty "datatype misalignment" messages and half of the application didn't work. i recompiled it with the ppc2003 sdk. no difference. it took me about one week to get things sorted out, and the error was not related to the function the debugger broke in. and btw: that was some rather simple forms app. so much to "inconsistency across devices". never had a problem like that on a palm os device. markus dresch (www.palmside.com) -- For information on using the Palm Developer Forums, or to unsubscribe, please see http://www.palmos.com/dev/support/forums/
