Hello Sergei,

I'm Marcelo and I had the same problem.
I haven't find a good way to result us problem. I think so that doesn't have.
The problem is that the palms device never had a unique identification.
The SysGetROMToken function return the chip ID of flash ROM and the
newest device doesn't based on flash ROM( like Zire-71, for exemple).
It doesn't a SO problem but a PDA device problem.

As I sad I haven't find a good way to solve this problem.
It you will know could you send to me( or better to us)?

Thanks

Marcelo "Serialnumberman" Henrique

Subject: SysGetROMToken with PalmOS 5 devices
Date: Mon, 26 Jan 2004 12:18:53 +0300

Hi,

I want to retrieve the ROM unique ID with SysGetROMToken(..) function. It's specified in Help, that
some devices starting with OS version 3 have this unique ID. But when testing it on my Zire-71, the
function returned all bytes '0xff', which means there's no ID available.

So, is it somehow possible to uniqely identify ANY PalmOS 5 device at all?? (I need this to make some kind of a app registration mechanism, which I never have done before, so don't know what to use - and I thought that the device's ROM unique ID could be just the case..)

Thanks!
Sergei
