I agree. I had the option of buying what I really wanted (a Zaurus SL-C860)
or buying a device locally (a Palm Tungsten T3), and in the end, it was the
local option which won. (Unfortunately for me, the Clie UX-50 was a tiny bit
outside my price range. Although I'm already taking a lot of consideration
into the option of trading up via Ebay... once the money is saved. :-p)
Good thing I did buy locally, too. I just had to send my device back for
excessive buzzing, and if I hadn't bought it locally, I bet that option
wouldn't even have been available. Support is the most important thing when
it comes to technology like this. :-)
As far as I'm concerned, it's not enough to release a device in Japan only.
Hell, it's not even enough for it to be released in Japan and the US,
otherwise it ends up like the Zodiac, which is another great device which is
equally unobtainable anywhere else. Whatever comes out must come out
GLOBALLY to count in my mind... or at least in Australia. ;-)
