OK, that's your opinion. But to go for performance and lose compatibility with future devices means to me that I would also need all current devices to test my app on them. Which leads to much higher costs than booking a flight to California. I try more to be compatible and OS friendly as possible and can assume it will run once and everywhere and don't need to test on every single device.
