Oh, they have their own dedicated Web sites, IRC channels, mailing lists and what not - which are dedicated to the subject of virus writing. They don't need to sift through zillions of unrelated messages here for a tiny bit of information they might need - they can get it easier by other ways.
I seriously doubt that theres much traffic pertaining to Palm OS in those exchanges.

Personally, I found his remark rather insulting. He doesn't know me at all, he has no idea what strong ethical code most people of my profession subscribe to, yet he was quick to imply that I am somehow manipulating the society, in order to create a market for my product.
And, honestly, I am sick and tired of this "all you money-grubbing AVers are making all the viruses, so that you can sell your products" crap!
If you want to find out some really extreme low level tricks in the Palm OS, then seeking that information through a public forum simply shows extremely poor judgement on your part. A total lack of common sense! You may note my posting made no reference to financial issues whatsoever.
There are ways of finding out that information that doesn't automatically share it with the entire world. In addition, I would hope that people who know the answers to some of your questions (including some your haven't yet posted) would have the good judgement to not post those answers on a public forum.
If you are able to discover this information, treat it as a trade secret. Something you know because you need to know it, and not something to share with any other person. Otherwise you run the classic risk of facilitating the creation of what you obviously despise, viruses and their related brethren.
