Do you tried to debug the crash? Your app shouldn't crash at all. It may not find it's databases if not installed on a fix place (like /Palm/Launcher) but then you could ask the user for the path. If it crashes, you should try to find the reason. Maybe it's not your foault, and the pointer is garbage. But have you checked it?
