There are. You may wish to consider whether you wish to pay a fee for each
Palm device running the database software that you develop, then use that to
decide which platform you use. The Palm developers web site has information
on various tools, but a search of the web should provide even more data.

Subject: Creating a database for my Palm application
Date: Tue, 8 Nov 2005 15:51:54 -0000
For my Senior project I decided to do a project with a GPS enabled Palm
device (iQue 3600). This is my first attempt at a Palm application, plus my
actual programming background is limited.
I have my project about 85% done and the last real part (except for tweaks
and improvements) is a database for the project.
My project uses the GPS to show where the user is on a map and then when
they encounter a waypoint it brings up a form giving educational details
about that area. This is where the database comes in.
I need to create 1 or 2 databases (I'm thinking one for text and one for
pictures) that will be (at this time) read only.
So since I am in no way a database (or Palm) expert I was wondering if there
was a desktop development tool out there to help me design these databases?
Or what is the best way to create a database for the information linked to
the waypoints on my map.
Note: As for now this is more of a proof of concept, with hopes of
developing this into a more refined project later after I get the basic
functionality down.
Thank you for your help,
Dustin
