Hello there, list.

I have a Treo 180. Old, but functionable. And it has a really cute GSM module
inside, which I'd like to play with in a quick'n dirty way, by talking directly
to it through its serial port. The thing is, though, that between the Wismo Pac
and the Treo, there is this thing called Handspring Virtual Modem v. 6.0.

Is there any way to disable it? I really don't mind that the phone and SMS
applications most likely would crash and burn; I don't need them for this
project. And having direct access to the Pac, I could whip something together
if I suddenly felt the need. GPRS support would be nice to keep, but I suspect
that would have to go, too.

I suppose one could do this by replacing the serial lib with something slightly
less intelligent, right? But is there any such beast available and compatible
with the 180, and if so, where?

/Sam
