What are you using for debugging, CodeWarrior, prc-tools ? Shortcut-dot-two puts the TX in console mode, but via USB. When on Windows you should hear the USB disconnect/connect sounds, since the TX is disconnecting first and then reconnects in console mode. Note that in console mode the TX is not halted. Also this only applies to 68k debugging. ARM/PNOlet debugging is a different story. You will need a serial cable for that.
