I subscribe to a group where whenever a certain person responds there is NOTHING useful below his posts. I know how to kill fill him, but what I'd
like to do is ignore/delete/"mark as read" everyone of his posts and
(recursively) all replies to his posts. Is that possible?

I asked this same question [1] a couple of weeks ago, and I believe the
consensus was that you can't do this in Pan—at least not automatically.
Bug 108566 [2] would be a step in the right direction, but doesn't mention
killing subthreads automatically.
