Zaki,

excellent paper. and lots of it. some comments.

1. two biggest concerns: thinking back to the previous PSA 32 paper, seemed like two things the referee hit hard on were:

a. what does 9th order polynomial do to the real power? I see you have one paragraph on this, but we might expect some push back. have you tried eg. 8th order and 10th order and see the results?

b. we detect signal significantly in a few bins. you discuss this, but my reading is that we still really don't know why.

other minor things

1. is it QSOs or XRBs that are thought to warm the neutral gas prior to reionization?

2. does the new consideration of constraints from Robertson et al. (2015) alter the predictions? Steve F. can tell us

3. Does Omnical include frequency dependent gains, or just time?

4. Yatawatta: they quote a dynamic range of like a brazilian, but this is at 10" resolution. I have never really felt that such a comparison is useful for reionization experiments at 15' resolution. the problem is totally different.

5. probably better to put PAPER future paragraph before HEAR paragraph in conclusions

6. would be very interesting to push these data through Lindley/Peters bayesian PS estimator.

great work,
Chris

Hi All,

Thought I would send around a draft before tomorrows meeting.
Still a little rough on the language, but everything should be there.
See you all tomorrow.

You can either get it with (~10 GB)

Or see the attached pdf.
