Hi John,
Open wing tips help when installing wing struts, multi engine
nacelles, and for making final adjustments. Pressure from within may be applied
by
inserting a long wooden dowel through the open wing tips to the fuselage
attach area for final tweaking. Leaving the fuselage-end open for the wood
dowel
also helps when you need to press against something; kinda like a bucking
bar. This technique removes a lot of the frustration factor.
