I neglected to say that you should check out what is available in the
way of 3D CAD software for Linux, or if you're already geometrically
inclined, a simple 2D vector drawing program such as InkScape will do
the job, though a 2D CAD program will give you the necessary precision
a bit more easily. GIMP will do nicely for the textural parts.
