I have just finished this diorama from World of Tanks of a Russian T34 and
a thatched cottage. I have to say that this is one of the nicest and most
accurate, with a couple of notable but easily fixed errors, models I have
ever put together. The fit of he parts for such a small scale model is
nothing short of astounding. The exceptions were where the top hull fits
onto the lower hull where it was a couple of millimetres short and I had to
put in a small strip to make up the difference, the tracks which were about
4mm too long and the insides of the rims on the road wheels that were a
fraction short.

All were fixable with very little effort and the rest fitted together like
a finger in a glove. I don't really understand how the thing can be so
accurate and yet miss on a couple of parts. In addition there are 2
different models of the T 34 to build with 3 variations on the track
builds. I chose the most difficult track build where each of the 10 road
wheels, 2 drives and 2 idlers have about 11 pieces in each wheel.

I learned a lot about butt joining small parts but considering that tank
models have always put me off because of thee many small round parts to be
cut out for the wheels, I have to say this was a pearler to build. All up
I'm guessing about 40 hours to finish, well worth the effort and I would
highly recommend this model for anyone who wants a detailed and easy to
build model that takes up very little room.

The cottage was made in 200gsm, the majority of the tank was 150gsm and the
gun barrel and tracks were done with 80gsm paper. the base that it sits on
was glued to some 3mm packing card that I scrounged from somewhere or
other. As previously posted the models can be downloaded from World of
Tanks here...

I wouldn't normally paste the cardmodel download page but if you go to the
main site you'll probably never find the models pages. I wish I could've
posted the original photo I took so you could see a bit more clearly how
detailed this but I know not all here have a fat connection to the net and
a 2.2Mb pic is too much on dialup.
Build and enjoy.
