for the moment, I have saved the Checklist offline using Firefox after
changing every page's encoding to iso-8859-1 and when I reopen them again
using IE7  the umlauts are there and everything is okay.May be this way can
help me temporarily (*at least I will not have to  change the encoding
whenever I visit a page of the Checklist !)* until the editors do something
to solve this problem.
