*Assistant Professor of Egyptology*
The Oriental Institute and the Department of Near Eastern Languages and
Civilizations of the University of Chicago invite applications for a
tenure-track position of Assistant Professor in Egyptology with a
starting date in Fall 2009.
Candidates must have competence in all stages of the Egyptian language.
In addition, they should have a research interest and focus on Egyptian
social or economic history or art history. Candidates with pre-New
Kingdom research interest and focus are especially encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate must have the Ph.D. completed before the
appointment begins.
