Dear Colleagues,

I'm actually working on the Gurob papyrus (Flinders Petrie Papyri II, 45 and III, 144) relating the events of Ptolemy's III expedition in Asia during the Laodicean war. The text, commented by Maurice Holleaux and the earlier bibliography given by Louis Robert, constitutes a royal communiqué of which the target was the Ptolemaic royal court. The document is cited in a variety of studies by I'm surprised not to fin a translation into a modern language. Do you know of any such translation? The Greek text is a monument of self-promotion and I believe worthy to be accessible to as many scholars as possible.

Best regards to all,

Panos
