Hi Utkarsh, The X display is being opened when the QApplication is created in vtkQtInitialization constructor. You added this call to vtkSMApplication last month although the code is inside ifdefs for VTK_USE_QVTK. I couldn't see any cmake build option for this (unless it is VTK_USE_QVTK_QTOPENGL).
