Mike,

We are working on the official ParaView/VTK Git repositories. These
will soon replace the current github repository. Though may still be
co-hosted on gitorious and/or github, it will have a totally different
history from the current version.
Until that happens, the current github repo may not get maintained.
The official way still remains CVS for another week or so. We will
have a fresh/clear announcement when the migration to git happens.
