I tried it with a vtkPolyData and vtkUnstructuredGrid input within ParaView
3.8.0 and it worked fine. Is it just with a multiblock data-set you are
having issues?

in pvpython ---> 1.4
in paraview ---> 1.0

Could someone reproduce this ?
