I have downloaded and installed via the EL6 Add/Remove Software GUI (under System -> Administration) a 64 bit EL6 linux paraview. Although the application did not fail to install, it fails to run with numerous unsatisfied externals; please see the list below. It should not have installed until these were resolved, but somehow the GUI did install it. Does anyone have a working current production paraview X86-64 EL6 RPM (e.g., CentOS, Scientific Linux, RHEL, etc.), and if so, where does one get the RPM?
I'm assuming (since I don't know what repos you have configured) that you have paraview-3.8.1-2.el6.x86_64 from EPEL. In that case you do not run the /usr/lib64/paraview/paraview directly, but run /usr/bin/paraview. Does that fail?
