I have downloaded and installed via the EL6 Add/Remove Software GUI

the application did not fail to install, it fails to run with numerous

installed until these were resolved, but somehow the GUI did install it.
Does anyone have a working current production paraview X86-64 EL6 RPM
(e.g., CentOS, Scientific Linux, RHEL, etc.), and if so, where does one
get the RPM?

I'm assuming (since I don't know what repos you have configured) that you have paraview-3.8.1-2.el6.x86_64 from EPEL. In that case you do not run the /usr/lib64/paraview/paraview directly, but run /usr/bin/paraview. Does that fail?
