Hi David, The file pw-config.properties is used with the Java version of the launcher. Now with the latest release, we also provide a Python one. => http://www.paraview.org/ParaView3/Doc/Nightly/www/js-doc/index.html#!/guide/py_launcher
Moreover, those configuration files are used to configure a front-end web server that will trigger pvpython command lines. For testing out ParaViewWeb, those front-end are optional. Although, it should be pretty easy to setup the python one by creating a config file that match your local setting. For real deployment read the EC2 documentation that explain how to setup apache to deal with the ws forwarding. Regarding the performances, on a local machine, you should be around 30 fps. So I suspect, you don't have a proper driver for your graphic card. If you have an Nvidia graphic card, try to install their driver. Thanks for letting me know that the script does not work for you, I'll fix it once I have a chance.
