Hmm, this is very odd. I don't know why libarpack would be loaded. It
looks like something is loading it and libarpack does not like the
libgfortran that ships with ParaView.

If you are familiar with gdb, could you run pvpython through gdb and
get a stack trace where libarpack is being loaded?
