In cpscript.py you will need to change the following line: coprocessor.EnableLiveVisualization(False, 1)
to: coprocessor.EnableLiveVisualization(True, 1) As for building VTK objects through the Python API, the VTK Examples at https://lorensen.github.io/VTKExamples/site/Python/ should have several will help you out.
