I figured I'd throw this to the mailing list before posting it to
the GSoC web app (which last year I had issues getting edits into), to
give it some wider review and maybe some more feedback this way, but I
also have this in googledoc format and can share with anyone
interested in mentoring or helping me make a better proposal ;)
