I think it is time that we stop ignoring the 800 lb gorilla in the room: IMCC. It simply cannot continue on its destructive path, unstoppable, spreading its disease at will when it so desires. With it, Parrot is more of a New York City feral pigeon rather than a charismatic and exotic bird.
IMCC is one of the central components of Parrot under the hood. Its branches are numerous and far reaching, spreading poison to everything it touches. Parrot will never be considered as an adequate alternative to other virtual machines if first time users (in particular, Perl6 users) are greeted with the message "error:imcc:syntax error ... somewhere in file 'foobar.pir' line -149216296". Whether it be a complete rewrite or incremental improvement or whatever, this needs to be seriously considered as a "highly critical" roadmap goal.
