The project is defunct for many years but legacy installations remain. Similar for Majordomo except Majordomo being a zillion times more common and both use X-List. The two capitalizations X-list and X-List seem to be similarly common. If you haven't found an Ecartis source tarball and still want one, I've dumped it at: ftp://ftp.linux-mips.org/pub/linux/mips/people/ralf/ecartis/ I'd switch anytime but don't like any of the replacements. GNU Mailman for example uses databases instead of ASCII files which on occasion is a pain.
