Yes, there are people in gitter also. I'd like to consolidate everything in slack.
It would be a new separate team, not a new channel. I don't understand your question, what do you mean by integrate multiple channels? Bootstrap move to slack is a huge success, brining more designers to the discussions and creating a more friendly community than the hardcore IRC one.
