This position must live in the local Southern California area and work on-site daily. This environment is working for a local government with very strict policies and security requirements. This position will have responsibility for the overall Voice Services Operation of 19K Nortel phones and associated 50 plus PBX, IVR and Unity Voice Mail systems which is being transformed to a new Enterprise Wide Cisco Platform for both Voice and Data networks. This position is only responsible for the Voice Services portion. This candidate must have hands on experience overseeing a major Nortel and VoIP environment with hands-on experience supporting multiple Carriers, Vendors, Infrastructure (Manholes, Conduits, Fiber, Cooper) both outside and inside plant. Major Duties: - Transition and Operations ownership - Maintain the current Nortel environment during transformation of 19K phones to a Cisco VoIP enterprise solution. This includes installing a new Cat6 cabling environment in over 150 plus buildings. - Direct responsibility for the team of engineers and technicians. - Planning, Architecture, Daily Operations - Workload Management, working on incidents, change requests, projects and installation / or removal of all the Voice hardware that is in the clients scope on a 7x 24 x 365 basis. - Responsible for design coordination and planning of the WAN, MAN and LAN facilities including working with Vendors for circuit ordering and maintaining to successfully perform the implementation of a new Cisco Call Manager, UCCX, 911 CER system for 19K phones. - Must have hands on experience working in an IT outsourcing environment. This candidate must have up to date hands on knowledge to plan, design, configure, turn-up and test all Voice system functions in this environment to oversee the work being performed. Candidate must be able to manage a large number of requests and to work with a very demanding client environment to ensure standards and best practices are being implemented. Must be able to quickly understand current environments and provide adaptive solutions. This position requires candidate with hands on level working knowledge with respect to a very large Data / Voice Network infrastructure shop with high volumes of requests and incident experience.
