1Password!!!Okay seriously 1password is one of THE apps that keeps me on my mac. It generates, strong passwords, saves your logins, works with all mac browsers (safari, opera, camino, firefox... you just have to add the "1password button" to the toolbar), has a wallet and secure note features as well.
It will even autofill forms, but it usually messes up if the forms are in german for example, but it usually fair better at just filling in a credit card and cvv code with start/expiration dates.
The best thing is, it has an iphone app too which does wifi sync with your mac. Only caveat is you have to click "edit" to be able to copy and paste the PW. And also, you can export your passwords as html, but this will have your passwords stored in an encrypted HTML file. I use this on my ubuntu subnote sometimes.
Last thing worth mentioning, the next version will support UPEK thumbprint readers, which is awesome cuz i have one. Then you won't have to enter that ultra secure, really long password you use to protect your database
Hope that helps, D. On Jul 28, 2009, at 21:26 , [email protected] wrote:
All, I, like everyone else, have 10's and 10's of passwords and PIN's and paper simply doesn't cut it - a password manager it is then! So my main machine is a Mac but I also use various OS's and I have an iPhone. I'm heading off for a holiday shortly and will be taking the iPhone and a netbook with me and will need access to the passwords and PIN's. I'm trying to find a secure method where I can access these passwords and PIN's from anywhere I want using anyone of those devices and OS's. Anyone have any suggestions to how is best to do this and also which apps you would recommend?
