Depending on which AV's you're running, it can cause system conflicts. We had a situation where we were moving from one AV vendor to another. Someone forgot to uninstall the old one on a couple PCs and when the new one was deployed it caused the machines to constantly freeze. We removed the old one and it worked fine.
