Hi all, hope some of you can make it to this one day con:

http://www.shoecon.org/

They still have room for a few more speakers.

Ligatted from the site:

What is ShoeCon?

ShoeCon is being held as a charity event for the Matthew Shoemaker Memorial
Care Fund. Matthew or “Shoe” was a fellow security professional, DC404
member and InfoSec podcaster who left behind two children. Thanks to the
generosity of DC404, this event will be held in conjunction with their
September meeting at the Wellesley Inn-Atlanta Airport. This is a donation
driven event where all the proceeds will go to the Shoemaker Memorial Care
Fund.

In order to get ready for the September 18th ShoeCon event, we are looking
for speakers to volunteer to give 30min – 1hr talks. These talks can cover
anything that you’re currently working on, researching or something that
you’ve recently learned. They can even be a rant on a particular topic,
like how AV sucks (Hint, Hint) or how to use rule-34 to enhance phishing
attacks.

Speaking at ShoeCon will probably not bring you fame or fortune (unless you
brought it with you), but it will allow you to help out a family in need.
If you live near Atlanta or are willing to travel to Atlanta then come help
a charity, learn some stuff and celebrate a life.
