I have used gkg.net for over a decade now. Their prices are very low.
They just don't offer many of the tld's that make for the ly or es
sounding domains. If you need one of those go with gandi.net like Josh
said.

As far as trademarks go, you can start using (TM) after your tag line
today. There is no paperwork to file or fees to pay. It also shows
that you are using that a a business/product identification. You will
probably want to hire a trademark lawyer to handle the registration
for you. They have to first do an exhaustive search of current
registered marks. If no conflicts are found, then you can file for
your mark. Then you wait some more.
