Hi
Have you ever been in a position where you saw someone type their
password, know that it was roughly three presses by the left hand, a
couple of the right then a left hand number. Want to decode those
presses to potential passwords?

Introducing Pat to Pass, you tell it the pattern you saw and it will
generate you a list of all possible words based on that pattern. It
can then optionally run those past a dictionary of real words to
attempt to weed out the likely candidates from the rest of the random
chaff.

As released this is more of a proof of concept than a fully practical
tool however it works well for short, < 7, character passwords and for
longer ones where you are able to specify exact keys, for example the
last character was a 1.

Download, have a play and give feedback. If you are good at working
with large lists of data and think you could help improve performance
then please get in touch.
