Hi.
The next release certainly won't support any of the newer units, but
there has been discussion about porting Rockbox to other units, either
inside or out of the Archos line. There is some work being done on it, but I
don't think it's nearly ready for release. The rockbox folks are, however,
anxious to get the firmware working on other units because of the lack of
Jukebox units for sale.

Hi.
You can set the recording parameters, input, bit rate, etc on the
archos, yourself with the Rockbox talking menus. The settings are
permanent
barring a format or resetting them from the menu. A text version of
the
rockbox manual is at
http://rockbox.haxx.se/manual/manual.txt
The manual is not fully up to date, and is being worked on for the
next release of Rockbox.
