I am coming in the middle of this thread, but I wanted to make you aware that the Archos has software available which makes the directories and filenames and most of the menus accessible -- I don't know of any other player which does that except for the specialized ones for the blind and those as far as I know are more expensive and have much more limited capacity. You can virtually not use a cassette again and never have to worry about erasing a note you recorded unless you want to because the date/time is in the filename when you record.
