It worked just fine at my parents house which is out in the country, but then I had a south-facing window even though it was in the basement. Yeah, it will not work where there is a lot of tree cover and out there in the woods. I found this out by accident when I visited friends living in the country and could not listen to XM for two weeks. I managed, but I missed my favorite shows.
