You might also look at the R. C. A. sold at Wal-Mart. Not only can you append, but also delete in the middle of the recording, and insert anywhere in the recording. I have used all of those functions and they work. However, the method is a bit clutsy. The quality of the recording is good and the buttons are very feelable.
