Hi Tom,

I think I may be able to help out with some of the things you were wanting to do.

First of all, my sound card is a Sound Blaster Live. So, I don't know if this makes a difference. Anyway, this is how I have my FM transmitter hooked to the computer. I don't really know about the recorder part. I've never done that. Anyway, hope this helps.

To plug the FM transmitter to your computer, you need the following: Line cord, or stereo/audio cord with 2 8th inch audio plugs on each end. 1 stereo barrel connecter with 2 female 8th inch audio plugs on either end. Plug cord in back of computer. Plug barrel connecter on to end of cord. Plug splitter in to the other end. The cord should be 4 to 6 feet long.

I use this type of connection so I can get to my FM transmitter and unplug it from the computer so I can use it for other things. Hope this helps.

I learned this stuff from my good friend Tom Scoggins. Hope this helps.

Btw, I'm listening to XM Online, The Village. Have a great week!

Kathy

A day hemmed in prayer, never comes unraveled.

Jerry: The name of the soundcard..as near as I can figure is: Crystall WDM
Does this sound like anything you (ror anyone on this list has heard of? If
it's of any help, the computer is an HP; don't know the model number!
