Now I got it. Yes I have burned a music CD that was too larg to fit on the 
disc and I was prompted to insert another disc. Had I known the project was 
too large for 1 disc I would have made the project smaller but I guess 
that's one way to learn.

Disk spanning is basically where all data won't fit on one disk it is
continued onto another disk.
I know that for example,some movies come on more than one disk.
And I use Nero for my disk burning operations, and it does support disk
spanning.
