G'day,

Do you recall what the make and model was of the transmitter that you got from Radio Shack? I'm about to head off to a local electronics shop here and get what sounds like a similar unit. The sales person I spoke to over the phone said that it is usually used in cars but it should cover 10 metres no problems... hmmmmm, like I've heard that before!

Cheers.

I purchased a transmitter from radio shack about a month ago. It wouldn't carry from my computer room to the living room. I took it back and the salesman told me that it was used mostly in automobiles.

Frankly, if I am thinking of the right Radio Shack transmitter, I wouldn't want it as it has
only two possible frequencies, 88.9 and 89.1, neither of which would be satisfactory in my
geographic area.

I apologize if Gary is speaking of a different transmitter.

Hi Gry, Do you have any specifics on that transmitter? Like cost, transmission range, power requirements etc. R Q J ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gary G. Schindler" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <Pc-audio@pc-audio.org> Sent: Monday, January 31, 2005 10:52 AM Subject: Re: C-Crane FM Tramsmitters

I would suggest that if you haven't bought the C Crane transmitter yet.
consider the fm transmitter that radio shack sells first. it has in my mind
better coverage around the house. there is no whip antenna to get broken,
and you don't have to remove any plates and adjust any screws to make it
more powerful. my dad bought one and I tried it out when he was here. the
unit can plug into your soundcard and take up little space.

that screw!
