I don't really understand why radio stations aren't allowed to stream on the 
net, unless it's because if they did, people would want to listen there, 
rather than on their radios.

Well, for the longest time, Infinity stations were not allowed to
stream.  Now, such stations as WCBS-FM are on the Net.
