Hi tom if you go into settings control panel sounds and multy media then audio have a look at which sound card is the default I bet You your total recorder has defaulted to the sound driver just go in and change back to your onboard sound or what ever sound card you have.
I'm sorry I am not doing a grate job of explaining this but I have had this problem it would seem if you have done a recording using total recorders software mode it defaults back to the total recorder driver I think you can set the default sound card to use on board sound I have done this and all seems to be ok now it might be an idea to tell total recorder to use it's own driver only when total recorder is active. Subject: Need Help With An Apparent Windows Media Problem Hello List: As the subject implies, I am in need of help in getting Windows Media to play audio streams! I discoverred this problem while trying to access WSM (a radio station in Nashville's_ audio stream; the computer gives me this message..or something like it: Windows Media cannot play this file; it has encountered a problem with the sound device; there may not be a "sound device" installed oon your computer..or there may not be a sound device installed! This ois absolutely absurd; I just installed new drivers not long ago! I have no idea as to what I must do to acess my audio streams! Note: I have tried this with more than one audio stream that uuses "Windows Media"..and cannot access either one! Can anybody help?
