Hi Gordon. Well I use Soundforge. I haven't tried cutting the sampling rate. I've only used the pitch shift function. That seems to work well for me. I don't use Audition, so maybe someone who uses it might be of more help. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I have both functions in Adobe Audition and in DC6 - somehow or other I can't get this to work. When I slow things down, but not far enough things sound promising, however when I attempt to get them exact I get distortion.

Cutting the sample rate - I tried this without any effect. How do I resample? It's not just converting the file to a different rate as this keeps things at the same level. How might I re-sample - is there any software which might just cut the speed by 1/2 and similarly correct the pitch? For so long this is only what you could do, but of course now the in thing is to keep the pitch the same.

I'm sure I've seen something about this on the list before but can't remember what to do. Can anyone help?

I have recorded 1 and 7/8 ips reel to reel tape at 3 and 3/4 speed and of course have found the recording too fast. I'm fairly sure that it's possible to slow this down to the normal speed by changing the sample rate but am not sure what to do. Can anyone advise?
