I try to download MP3 files on a certain website, but rran into problems. First I would get a quicktime message "Aplugginwindow", then I tried letting it play a little, then Alt-F#4 then the applications key, but cannot have the opportunity to save the MP3s from this web site. I then errased the program Quicktime, but the problem still exists. How can this be fixed? ----- Original Message ----- From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

ask?

Well!

I can't for the life of me understand why the writer changed the
check/unchecked notification feature at all. It use to work just fine and
it did not do anything bad to the program so why bother with it. I
purchased the program back in early 2000/20001 and that original version
allowed you to just arrow up and down the list and it would let you know
which track was checked or unchecked. In fact, there was an option in the
settings area that asked you whether or not you wanted to use check boxes
or not. With this checked to yes ensured you would have this data read or
you could set things with checkboxes and know whether or not a track was
selected or not. The layout acts the same, so why not put it back. I
just can't understand why programmers feel they must tamper with things
that work. There is absolutely nothing improved in the program by making
this info ungettable.

I would say to the programmer "put it back and make the program better for
us all."

I believe you can find it at Poikasoft.com. I hope I have that right. It's
a CD ripping and burning program.

Well folks I took the plunge and ordered the edirol r1.
I Bought it and had it shipped next day so I can play with it this weekend.
I ordered it from sound professionals and with some high capacity NIMH
batterys I should get double the time out of the recorder. I all so
purchased a two gig compact flash card. Wish me luck.

Hi Don,

I returned mine, because it often produced just digital noise, when I
recorded something with it. At www.taperssection.com are messages from
other people with the same problem. So, if you sometimes just hear
noise when you've recorded stuff with the Edirol, you're not alone.

Good luck

Hey there, Don. Please do let us know how you like the unit and how it performs as you test it out this weekend. Although I dearly love my Olympus DS-2 with all my heart, I may eventually get one of
the Edirol babies. Thanks.

well that would have been nice to know. One thing I can say is that there
has been a firmware update and maybe that has fixed the problem I will look
at the bugg fixes. Another thing is they don't support all memory cards.
Some draw to much current on battery power and derail the recorder. We will see. I have a 30 day trial on the edirol from the sound professionals and if
I have a problem I will sure send it back.

I am Steve Campbell. I have an audio problem. When I try to download certain audio files, I let them play for a while, press Alt-F#4, trying to save, but to no avail. When I search, using it comes up with no files. What is causing this?

Guess the subject says it. Last year, there was an mp3 audio feed for the
hurricane network of ham radio operators tracking hurricanes as they made
their trek through the Caribbean, and the Gulf of Mexico. Does any such
feed exist at present, and if so, where can it be found?

Thanks in advance,

Larry

Steve,

We are going to need a lot more info than you have provided. Such as, what
kind of recording program are you using to make these recordings would be a
good start. I can say for certain, that if you are using a program such as
Total Recorder, you won't be able to save a recording unless you finish the
process, and then either go to the menu option for saving, and give it a
file name, or as you say you are doing, simply press alt-f4, and you will
be asked if you want to save before exiting the program. But again, you
wont be able to save while recording is in progress regardless of what
recording application is in use.

Hi, Don. I finally tested that Total Recorder problem, to review, we're in
the advanced dialog of the Auto-stop recording feature telling the program
when to stop recording. The second check box lets us say that if nothing is
recorded for a given number of seconds, the recording should end. I first
cleared the value that was automatically inserted in the duration field,
then went into the advanced dialog where this checkbox is found. It worked
perfectly. I told TR to quit if nothing was recorded for 40 seconds, and
to shut down Winamp when it was done. I launched a sound in Winamp,
stopped the sound and less than a minute later it did what I told it to
do. Again, I haven't tried 5.2, though it doesn't seem likely this would
be broken. I think a key is making sure that initial duration field is
cleared.

Hi Larry. Well I hope and pray that Florida doesn't suffer the damages,
like it did from last year's storms.

Hi. As long as your friend has something like Goldwave to record the
sound, with the volume control set to capture wave output, it should
work. I mention this in case you were expecting to use Windows Sound
Recorder.
